To further improve the service standards, share the management experience with counterparts and actively address the hotspot issues of consumers’ concern, Shanghai International Commodity Auction organized an Open Day on September 5th. Over fifty visitors registered for the Open Day and were invited for a half-day tour round the auction house.

During the tour, SICA staff introduced in detail to the visitors the unique features of an auction sale in comparison with other forms of sales. Visitors were also briefed on the businesses of SICA, including jewelry, fine art and vehicle quota, by the departments, as well as stories and anecdotes. A lecture on the myths and truths about the ancient Chinese copper coins was specially presented to the visiting guests by one of the experts of SICA. To help the visitors better understand an auction bidding and to give them, most of whom had never took part in a bidding before, an opportunity to have some hand-on experience, a mini-auction was held at the end of the tour. Twenty pieces of jade went on the block with the starting price of ￥10. Ten registered auctioneers at SICA hosted the mini-auction in turn, each with their own personal style.
